Hi, I'm Jordan Hoffner

After more than two decades in digital media and technology, I've learned that the best opportunities often live at the intersection of innovation and human connection. My career has taken me from the early days of digital transformation to the cutting edge of AI and automation, always with an eye toward what's next.

What Drives Me

I'm passionate about identifying emerging trends before they become obvious and building bridges between traditional industries and new technologies. Whether I was helping lay the business foundation for YouTube's creator program (now a multi-billion dollar enterprise) or experimenting with blockchain solutions to combat ad blocking at Salon.com, I thrive on turning "what if" into "what's working."

My Background

My expertise centers on corporate development and strategic partnerships. Throughout my career at companies like Google, YouTube, and Samsung Next, I've been part of teams that have bought, sold, and integrated companies ranging from billion-dollar enterprises to scrappy startups. Through creative deal-making and strategic thinking, I've helped create millions in shareholder value and lasting asset growth.

One of my most rewarding challenges was serving as CEO of Salon.com, a publicly traded company that needed a complete transformation. I led a comprehensive turnaround that touched every aspect of the business: rebuilding our content strategy, overhauling the technology stack to optimize for mobile and the rise of programmatic advertising, and launching Salon TV, where we secured A-list celebrities on par with major TV talk shows. I was also one of the first major publication CEOs to recognize Reddit's potential, establishing distribution there early and riding their explosive growth.

The turnaround worked. I successfully sold the company, delivering a high-profile exit that validated our strategy and created significant value for shareholders. Seven years later, Salon is still going strong, continuing to give diverse voices a platform to share their stories.

What I'm Doing Now

Currently, I'm a partner and head of business development at Offline Studio by Offline Ventures, where I work with AI-first startups across enterprise software, ad tech, travel tech, robotics, health tech, and digital media. I love being in the trenches with founders who are building the future.

I'm also collaborating/consulting with PE firms, small businesses looking to transform and grow, fellow entrepreneurs, and C-level executives over 50 who share my interest in acquiring established businesses and scaling them with modern technology. There's something powerful about combining decades of experience with fresh approaches to growth.

When I'm not immersed in deals, you'll find me at NYU's Stern School of Business, where I lecture as an executive in residence and mentor entrepreneurs at the Berkley Center for Entrepreneurship. Teaching and mentoring keep me connected to the next generation of innovators.

Beyond Business

I serve as chairman of the advisory board for Miso Robotics, a company revolutionizing commercial kitchen automation. I'm also actively involved in local nonprofits focused on solving food insecurity and equal opportunities for underrepresented entrepreneurs and am a proud supporter of the Lung Cancer Research Foundation.

Why I'm Here

I'm always looking for the next great opportunity to partner with ambitious entrepreneurs and help transform industries. If you're building something meaningful or looking to acquire and grow established businesses, I'd love to connect and explore how we might work together.
